HISTORY

Mr Dimitris and Mr Andreas Tsikouris were born and raised in Chalkidiki, Greece, in an area where olive cultivation has been a tradition since ancient times.

They have truly shown their love and respect for the blessed olive tree since they were kids.

They have observed closely for years olive cultivation, olive harvesting, and olive oil extraction and have learned to appreciate the valuable properties of the olive oil. Their memories as children over time have transformed into an experience that, combined with their vision to produce their own olive oil, gave birth to THALLON, a natural product rich in phenols and with extremely low acidity, derived from early harvest olives, by cold extraction using the most modern and certified equipment and methods.

OUR OLIVE OIL

Thallon is an early harvest olive oil of high quality, rich in health-protective and nutritional substances. It is a natural product of unripe (green) olives, produced only by mechanical means at ambient temperature (27ºC), without the addition of water.


It is a natural olive juice, from fresh and healthy early harvest olives.
Once the natural olive juice has been produced, it is left for a while, so that the larger particles of olives to settle down. Our olive oil is standardized and bottled unfiltered, so that all the olive microparticles, which are extremely beneficial for health, to be preserved intact.


Due to its high content of polyphenols, Thallon has gained a health claim, according to European Regulation No. 432/ 2012 of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
It has a strong fruity and at the same time soft taste because of its very low acidity. It also leaves a slightly bitter aftertaste and a slight burning sensation in the throat, due to the high content of Oleocanthal and Oleacein, which have significant biological activity and have been attributed with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, cardioprotective and neuroprotective properties.


It is one of the very few early harvest olive oils on the market, produced from a specific variety of olive trees, and in limited quantities.


Our olive groves are located in the area of Chalkidiki, Greece, while the variety of olive trees from which Thallon Olive Oil is produced is "PDO Chondrolia Chalkidiki", world-famous for its quality and size.
